Letter From the President
This fall brings many opportunities for you to learn more about dyslexia. The International Dyslexia Association has designated October as Dyslexia Awareness Month, and many workshops are being offered throughout the Bay Area. You will find a complete listing of these programs in this newsletter. Be sure to set aside time to attend one of these events. You will find it well worth the effort!
Another incredible educational opportunity is IDA's National Conference, to be held Nov. 9-12, 2005 in Denver, Colorado. Our National Conference is one of the finest available and includes a multitude of speakers and topics on current issues in the field of dyslexia. Professionals and parents alike find it a valuable time to learn, reflect and get reenergized. Details about the conference are included in this newsletter.
You will find that the bulk of this issue consists of a copy of our newly revised branch bylaws. Our branch is one of the oldest in IDA, and it has become necessary to make adjustments to the bylaws so that they accurately reflect how we run our branch. The new bylaws cannot go into effect until our membership votes to approve them, so please send the attached ballot back to us promptly.
It is a privilege for our board to be serving you.
Sincerely,
Barb Langeloh
President, NCBIDA
