Nominees for the NCBIDA Board:
Submitted by: Dianne Peterson, Floy Marks, Martha Renner
Nominating Committee, Nov. 21, 2005

The following candidates have been nominated to fill positions as members of the Board of Directors of The Northern California Branch of The International Dyslexia Association:

Melissa King: Melissa comes to the Board primarily as a parent, having rallied for her LD/ADD- challenged college freshman son since kindergarten. She was awarded an M.B.A. in project management from UCLA. She has undertaken numerous volunteer commitments in the classroom, in school-related parent organizations, at PHP and also with NCBIDA. Upon completing a professional interlude as an educational advocate for school-struggling children of the juvenile court system, Melissa joined our Board a year ago as co-chair of the Scholarship Committee.

Marsha Price: Marsha holds a Masters degree in Education and a certificate in Educational Therapy. She is co-founder of Quantum Leap, a summer program that teaches study and organizational skills, reading comprehension, writing, and Latin and Greek roots to middle school students in San Francisco. She is a Slingerland practitioner and works as an Educational Therapist in private practice in San Francisco.

Leslie Lingaas Woodward: Leslie is a freelance writer, editor, and public relations specialist who specializes in health care. She is also a Slingerland-trained MSLI tutor, working with students in San Francisco. She has served for the past two years as chair of the NCBIDA Public Relations Committee.

Brian Inglesby: Brian is a school psychologist and Licensed Educational Psychologist. Brian works primarily in public schools but maintains a private practice as an educational evaluator and consultant. Of special interest to Brian is the opportunity to help students (regardless of age) to better understand and manage their own unique learning profile based upon information collected, observed, and presented from the evaluation process. Brian is new to the NCBIDA Board this year and will act as chair of the Website/Newsletter Committee.
